Two Riders Named Players of the Week

Toronto, ON - (November 24, 2009) - Anthony Calvillo, Renauld Williams, Andy Fantuz and Ryan Grice-Mullen were named the Gibson's Finest CFL Players of the Week for the week of the Division Finals, the Canadian Football League announced today. 

The four players were chosen by a panel of judges that includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde, now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

QB - Anthony Calvillo - Montreal Alouettes 

Gibson's Finest CFL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK 
LB - Renauld Williams - Saskatchewan Roughriders

Key Stats: 
Linebacker Renauld Williams had a career day to lead the Rider defence in the team's Western Final win over the Calgary Stampeders.

Williams racked up a game high 10 tackles including three sacks in the victory.

Williams' three sacks were a career high and matched his sack output for the entire regular season.

After the Stampeders jumped out to a 10 point lead early in the second quarter the Rider defence held the Stamps to just one point until late in the fourth quarter when the game was well in hand.

Gibson's Finest CFL CANADIAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK 
SB - Andy Fantuz - Saskatchewan

Key Stats: Andy Fantuz was excellent for the Riders in their 27-17 victory over the Stampeders in the Western Final on Sunday.

Fantuz had a game high 89 yards on five receptions including one touchdown in the win. 

Fantuz scored on a nine-yard pass from Darian Durant early in the third quarter to give the Riders their first lead of the game, a lead they would never relinquish.

Fantuz also had a 39-yard reception in the fourth quarter to help set up a Luca Congi field goal and extend the Riders lead.
